Izabella Suana Hernandez is a Mexican-Guatemalan designer, communications specialist, and educator who explores research-based approaches to many creative languages.
She obtained a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Visual and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication from Florida Atlantic University (FAU) in Boca Raton, Florida.During her time at FAU, she was the recipient of numerous creative research grants for her work designing sculptural installations and therapeutic tools that depict scientific findings in the fields of microbiology and psychology. She won the first place award for her research, Interactions Between Humans and The Public Built Environment: Creating Extensions of the Body Through Bacterial Exchange, competing against 150 students at the annual Research and Inquiry Symposium at FAU. Soon after, her sculptural installation, How It Feels, was exhibited at the ART ROOM Gallery Contemporary | NOW Emerging Artist exhibition in Fort Worth, TX.
Izabella was elected as the Communications Coordinator of the Ceramic Guild of Florida Atlantic University. At the same time, she volunteered as a designer and copywriter at The Thx Co., a social-good brand dedicated to supporting non-profit organizations, assisting in Thx Co.’s marketing efforts. She partnered with non-profit organizations and online creators to write and design a Kickstarter campaign, which launched the company’s e-commerce site for individualized charitable giving. The campaign successfully exceeded the funding goal of $50,000, resulting in 329 backers pledging $58,493 to help bring the Thx Co. project to life.
Izabella’s career pivoted into education in 2018, teaching various subjects, including journalism, graphic design, and art. In 2021, Izabella worked as the Director of Fine Arts at Weston Christian Academy, managing the fine art programs, curriculum development, and school events. This led her to become a Visual Art and Art History Lecturer for Advanced Placement students at Mater Lakes Academy, where she also sponsored the National Art Honor Society.
To date, Izabella actively continues to pursue projects and opportunities related to art, design, and communications.
